Organization
The Erie Saints is a
travel basketball organization that was formed in 1995. Our
purpose is the continued development of girl’s
basketball in NW Pennsylvania. We stress skill development in
practice sessions and participate in regional tournaments that
provide the best competition available. We are extremely proud
to be part of the phenomenal success that has been achieved by
area high school teams. Many of our former players have also
earned college scholarships. For the 2008 season, the
Saints plan to have separate teams in age groups 10U
through 15U.

Eligibility |
|
The age group that
an athlete participates in is determined by the
athlete’s age as of July 1 (of the previous
year). For example, if your child was born on
8/13/95 and was 11 years old as of 7/1/07, then
they would try out for a spot on the 11U (age 11
and under) team in 2008.
THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS and it more
closely aligns the age group with the athlete’s
grade in school.

Try Outs
Try outs will be
held according to the following general
schedule. The exact dates and locations will be
communicated to all registered athletes, as they
are determined. The differences are due to the
timing of the school basketball seasons in the
various age groups. All players try out
for the team (former players are not
guaranteed a spot on the team). |

They generally
take place on

Cost
The Saints
participation fee for
this year is $245 (a
$50 reduction from last
year – due to the
financial success of our
Saints Tournament).
This fee includes all
tournament entry fees,
uniform, gym rent for
practice, coaches travel
expenses, equipment, and
administrative expenses.
The fee does not
include family travel
expenses. We will use
the same uniform as last
year. Therefore, if you
already have a uniform,
the fee is $195. A
discount of $100 will be
given to a second child
from the same family.
The organization will
spend approximately $500
per player.
Revenue from our annual
Saints Tournament
in May will cover the
difference.
Parent participation in
running this tournament
is mandatory and
allows us to limit or
eliminate other
fundraising activities
and keep the
participation fee
affordable.
